Test First…Then Clean

SafeRestore is a professional strength glass restoration detergent. Testing the product before you begin your restoration project will save you time and money. Testing will enable you to become familiar with the product, including how long to let it dwell on the surface, and help you determine rinsing requirements, among other indicators for an optimum clean. By applying your test results to the entire job, you will save on manhours, chemical costs and, importantly, achieve the excellent results that the product is designed to give you.

The Testing Process
* Pick a small, inconspicuous area for your test. A two-foot by two-foot section is all that is needed.

* Using a spray bottle, apply product at the recommended strength.

* Dwell times will vary. Test various dwell times to determine which is the most effective in removing the particular stain.

* Rinse and review results.

* Some stains may require more than one application of product, or a longer dwell time to remove. Repeat process by modifying these variables until you achieve the desired results.

* Apply findings to the entire project.

Dilutions
SafeRestore is designed to be used undiluted.

Dwell Time
The dwell time of product on the surface will be determined from the test patch that you perform prior to beginning the project.

Rinsing
Rinse thoroughly using a high pressure rinse. Do not allow the SafeRestore to dry on the surface.

Specific Applications for Glass Cleaning
Note: The following procedures are approximate. Many variables exist that can affect the cleaning time, including type of stain and length of time on surface. Use results from your test patch to determine the exact procedure for your particular situation.

Water hardness, biological, mineral and atmospheric stains, sealer overspray, caulk bleed, concrete leaching and paint wash:
Generally, mist undiluted SafeRestore onto the surface. Most of these stains can be removed with one application of SafeRestore. If stain persists after one application, reapply without rinsing in-between.

Coatings and sealers:
Two EaCo Chem products have been tested as effective removers of: anti-graffiti coatings (complex acrylic), silane/siloxane waterproofers (water and solvent based); and acrylic waterproofers (water and solvent based).

* In tests, Graf-Ex, a special purpose stripper designed for the removal of inks and paints from painted surfaces, removed the above mentioned coatings with ease. The test to confirm complete removal is to spray water on the glass and look for beading.

* Silane/siloxane products seemingly react with the glass, leaving behind a stain when removed. One or two applications of undiluted SafeRestore will remove that stain.

Special Surfaces
SafeRestore has been used safely on reflective coating glass and Viracon security glass.

Because SafeRestore is so versatile, it will also clean surrounding surfaces, including anodized window frames. (After cleaning with SafeRestore, we recommend using EaCo Chem's Anodized Restoration (ART) treatment as a finish coat to restore the luster to the anodized surface).

Cautions
* Do not allow SafeRetore to dry on the Surface. Rinse thoroughly.

* Do not use when air temperatures are below 40 degrees F.

* Do not apply to hot surface. Flash cool surface with water before applying product.

* Limit direct contact with landscaping and plants. Cover using plastic or wet the foliage with water before and after the cleaning process.

* Do not use on polished marble, surface dyed substrates, brass, copper or bronze.
