HD Degreaser

Heavy Duty Carbon & Grease Remover

Description and Use

HD Degreaser will penetrate layers with a combination of aggressive caustics, buffering and stabilizing compounds that keeps the product from drying out. This allows a fast and long term attack with minimal degradation of surfaces. HD Degreaser can be used for pre-treating oil stains on concrete. The product is also used for soaking through very thick layers of clay, grease, foodstuffs, and hydraulic fluid and oil stains in one application.

Advantages
Excellent adhesion and penetrating cleaning ability on vertical and horizontal surfaces.
Will not damage wires or hoses in engine compartments

Limitations
May mark paint
May discolor aluminum

Preparation

General Preparation
Protect adjacent and surrounding surfaces not intended to be cleaned when necessary.

Surface and Air Temperatures
Excessively high or low temperatures will produce poor results and possible harm. Best cleaning results are obtained when air and surface temperatures are 40째 Fahrenheit or above. Do not clean when temperatures are below freezing or will be overnight. If freezing conditions exist, allow adequate time for surface to thaw. If air temperatures exceed 90째 Fahrenheit, flash cool the surface with water before applying product. Do not allow products to dry on the surface. Always rinse thoroughly while still wet.

Pre-Testing
Always test prior to beginning full-scale cleaning operations. Testing should confirm cleaning effectiveness on each type of surface and stain designated to be cleaned. Test also to determine the desired surface contact time and any potential for adverse reactions with adjacent materials. Allow test panels to dry thoroughly before evaluating final appearance and results.

Dilutions
Use undiluted (straight) Dilute up to 50:1, if used in a dip tank application

Application

General Application
Apply undiluted (straight) with a brush or low pressure sprayer. Oil stains on concrete benefit from a brushing after application. This helps the degreaser lift shadows. It increases the dwell time which will benefit the product. If used in a dip tank application, this product may be diluted up to 50:1. Allow products to soak until soil is softened. Care should be taken when immersing soft metals such as aluminum in to a hot solution. Metal should not be left in the soak for too long, under eight hours. When cleaning badly soiled equipment for repainting, it may be best to apply the product with a sprayer. Repeat the application in areas that look dry. Once the product has been absorbed by the soil and another application will allow complete release in one rinse. Parking structures and drive through lanes benefit from presoaking the oil stains hours before cleaning as this allows the product time to get deep into the surface and work at lifting out the shadows. Pressure washer rinsing is best.

Coverage Rates
Coverage rates will vary from 100 - 250 sq. ft. per gallon depending on the surface porosity, texture and severity of staining.

Safety Information

Precautionary Measures

Dispose of empty containers according to federal, state, and local requirements. Do not dilute HD Degreaser with any product except water. Do not use for any other applications other than specified. Do not remove label. Read Material Safety Data Sheet for additional safety and health hazard information prior to use.

Spill or Leak Procedures
Check with the state, local or federal regulations for waste disposal methods in your area. Wear proper protection equipment while doing cleanup. Large spills - dike and contain for intended use. Small spills - use chemical spill absorbent product and place in approved container for disposal.
